Tina S. Nova, Ph.D. President & CEO
Tina has extensive experience in the creation of start-up companies and the commercialization of products with a focus on molecular diagnostics. Tina spent 15 years as the co-founder, President and CEO of the publicly-traded company, Genoptix Medical Laboratories, from inception to its acquisition by Novartis Pharmaceuticals in 2011. She has worked for, managed, raised capital and co-founded a number of early-stage innovative biotechnology companies in San Diego including Nanogen, Inc., Ligand Pharmaceuticals and Hybritech, Inc. She graduated in Biochemistry and has a PhD from the University of California Riverside. Tina was named one of the Top 10 Women in Biotech in 2011 by FierceBiotech and was recently featured in Wired Magazine.
Mike Nerenberg, M.D. SVP & Chief Medical Officer
A deep technologist, Mike holds an MD from the Yale School of Medicine. He was CMO at Genoptix Medical Laboratories where he was responsible for the creation of the company’s main Compass product offering and established the company’s biopharmaceutical division. A former academic, Mike spent several years on faculty at Scripps Research Institute. He is an inventor on over 20 patents and has over 50 scientific articles published in major journals. Mike was a medical staff fellow at the NIH and a resident in internal medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
Brent Vetter, CPA Senior Director, Finance
Brent is a Certified Public Accountant and has a Masters in Accountancy from San Diego State University. He started his career in public accounting with KPMG prior to moving into the private sector and holding various management positions at both Mobilitie, LLC and Illumina, Inc. Brent has strong analytical skills and a deep knowledge of all aspects of financial support, including budgeting, forecasting, modeling, cost accounting and strategic planning.
